What is Nassau?

Nassau is three separate stroke-play matches in one round: front 9, back 9, and overall 18. Each match is scored independently, so you can win up to three bets in a single round.

It's a popular bet structure because there's always something to play for - even a brutal front 9 leaves the back and overall still up for grabs. Nassau requires 18 holes.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Golf with Mates is free to use for tracking rounds, scoring, and settling friendly bets with your group.

How does Stableford scoring work?

You earn points per hole based on your net score relative to par: bogey = 1, par = 2, birdie = 3, eagle = 4. Highest total wins.

What is a Skins game?

Each hole is worth a "skin." The lowest net score on a hole wins the skin. Ties carry the skin to the next hole.

How are bets settled?

Set the stake when you create the round. After the final hole, the app shows a settlement summary of who owes who, ready to pay in person or by your favorite payment app.
